The email from the Archdiocese of Baltimore came with an ask. Encouraging the community to lobby against proposed legislation that would give more survivors of child sexual abuse the ability to file lawsuits against the church.

Maryland’s Senate passed a bill Thursday that will open a retroactive “lookback window” allowing childhood sexual abuse survivors to bring lawsuits even if their claims already expired under a previous statute of limitations.
